Resume Tips

  • Know the purpose of your resume, the position you are applying for, and your area of expertise.
  • Outline your strengths and accomplishments.
  • Your education should appear first in the resume.
  • If you have been at one organization holding various positions, list all titles, however put the date at the top of the most current title.
  • Proofread twice and then have someone else proofread it for you.
  • Use bullet points to keep your resume clear and concise.
  • No hobbies or references listed.
  • No pictures.
  • Don’t list all work experience - only experience that is relevant to the position applied for.
  • Sell yourself –tell the truth.
